Can Roku and playstation do the same thing when it comes to streaming?

Q. I already have playstation which I used to watch Netflix, I am planning on canceling my cable. Do you think I need Roku or is having a playstation the same thing.

A. The Roku supports more media types by default and has more channels for watching media, so if that's all you really want to do then it's probably more of what you want. The PlayStation has Hulu Plus, Netflix, and a few others but not much beyond that and what's available for rent on the PlayStation Store. Roku has more free channels for stuff and not much is free on the PS3.

If you use software like PlayOn or PS3 Media Server though then your PS3 can be a great media streamer if you're willing to mess with configurations.. You also need to have a computer that can stream stuff to your PS3.

Really, you should buy a PS3 for the games more than for the media capabilities though because there's many cheaper alternatives to a PS3 for media.

What can I do with my Playstation after it becomes corrupted and restores?
Q. My Playstation became corrupt and restored. Now I've lost all my game data but my memory is still taken up. Is there a way to restore my game data? If there isn't, is there a way to get back my hard disk space?
I have tried pressing it until I heard the beeps then choosing 3. It returns to the state it was AFTER the it restored itself.

A. I'm a PlayStation tech support, If you system has become corrupt and restored itself then there's is No way to get your game saves or saved game date back. Have you tried entering safe mode to do a safe mode 3 (restore file system) and then a safe mode 5(restore ps3 system)?

How much would a playstation 2 sell for?
Q. I got a playstation that I've become tired of playing, mostly because of two useless controllers and already beaten games. How much do you think the console would go for with the wires?

A. Well, the value of your system depends on three key factors: design, condition, and accessories.

An originally designed Playstation 2 system, in mint condition, can sell for about $90, including a controller, box, hook-up wires, and instruction manual. If you are selling it at a used condition (including minor scratches, dust stains, etc.) without any accesories, I'm sure you could profit about $30-40. Each used controller could go for another $5-10, as well as each video game. Here is an image of this console's design: http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/ps2-photo.jpg

The redesigned slimmer model of the Playstation 2, mint, is worth at least $100, including the controller, box, wires, and manuals. At a used condition, the console could sell for $50-60 solo. Each used controller adds an extra $5-10, and each used game can sell for about the same price. Here is an image of this console's design: http://gaygamer.net/images/ps2drop.jpg

Depending on the rarity of the design/games, you could possibly make a little more profit. Craigslist (www.craigslist.org) is an easy way to get offers that will possibly provide you with more or less money around your given price, while eBay of course (www.ebay.com) can make you an infinite addition to your total outcome through auction.

Good luck selling!
